April and May were such busy months for us. I've just spent the last couple hours uploading and organizing photos from my iPhone and camera onto our computer in order to pick out my favorite ones for this post. I must say, with our hectic and sometimes unforgiving schedules, we sure do cram in as much fun as we possible can...and it's hard not to with this AMAZING weather that we have been having.
It's hard for me to stay indoors when it's beautiful outside so I find as many outdoor activities as I can possibly can to keep little Owen occupied. In fact, on one of our first nice days of Spring Owen got to experience the Hogle Zoo for the first time. He LOVED it!! It was incredible for me to see his face light up at each new animal that he got to see. One of his favorite books is
DEAR ZOO. It goes it little something like this...
 |
| "I wrote to the zoo to send me a pet... |
 |
| "they sent me a GIRAFFE...he was too TALL, I sent him back... |
 |
| " so they sent me a LION, he was too FIERCE, I sent him back..." |
We didn't get to see EVERY animal but the ones we did see, oh my, Owen was just in AWE! After about 2 hours this is what I took home with me...
I'd say it was a pretty successful day at the zoo, wouldn't you??
Owen isn't the only one getting to have all the fun (that is, if you consider running fun)...after 8 weeks of pushing around a massive jogging stroller, I finally ran the La Jolla Half Marathon with my best friend. It's been six years since my last half marathon, and my first major feat since having Owen. It rates pretty high on my list of my most proud moments.

We finished the race in 2:30, not bad eh? We were pretty pleased with ourselves given the route of the 1/2 marathon...let's just say we won't be running that course anytime in the near future or EVER for that matter.
No sooner than arriving at the airport to board a plan back to Salt Lake City, I signed up for another 1/2 marathon (yeah, I'm crazy)!! I'll be running the Park City Half Marathon in mid-August. I still must of had adrenaline pumping thru my veins because I failed to consider the fact that I was having foot surgery Mother's Day weekend. I'm optimistic that my doctor is going to let me start running again at the end of June (keep your fingers crossed). And don't worry, I'll spare you all the post-surgery pictures :)
Like I mentioned earlier, we love being outside, especially when the weather calls for sunny skies...OR when Harrison joins a baseball team!!!

We've really enjoyed watching Harrison play on his baseball team. I have to tell you, he has quite the arm on him! He launches the baseball across the field like it's nothing. His coach had him playing a lot of different positions but it appears that first base is where it's at for him.
Well the boys are now out of school for the summer and they've taken to summer vacation like true champs :) Both Harrison and Andrew have started swimming on a competitive swim team for the summer. I think Harrison is doing it more for conditioning for next year's swim season. He takes his swimming very serious and we love that about him. I hope Andrew will enjoy it just as much. We can't wait to go cheer them on when the meets start. We'll definitely share some pictures when they start.
That about wraps it up for now. Stay tuned for more Sucher Family Summertime Fun...
