FUN in the SUN !!

I've been away from our blog for a bit but that's because we have been having way too much fun in the sun and enjoying this beautiful SPRING weather.  Who wants to sit at a computer while the sun is out shining?!

Our family just got back from a weeklong venture down to Arizona.  We had a string of chilly days in Utah so it was oh so nice to spend the boys' Spring Break in a warmer climate for a week.  We spent about 4 days visiting Grammy and Papa in their new Green Valley abode and then hiked the Grand Canyon the last leg of our trip. WOW...the only word that I can use to describe the Grand Canyon is MAJESTIC!  It was absolutely incredible to be able to walk along the rim and hike down into the South Kaibab Trailhead. Hiking down into something that massive made us all feel like a bunch of tiny little ants marching thru an ant farm.  I guess in the grand scheme of things, that's exactly what we are  :)

Here are some photos from our adventure...
Owen was the BEST little road-tripper!  He didn't make a peep the first 7 hours of the drive...unless you count his babbling and giggles.  We were shocked at how well he did on our LONG drive to and from AZ

Owen getting ready to take a dip for the first time in a swimming pool.  Uh...yeah, this is probably the best shot we got of him in his swimming attire.  The kid isn't the biggest fan of the water just yet, we'll get there (God-willing)

Brian and Owen getting ready to tackle the terrain at Saguaro National Park.  Check out our killer hiking pack we bought for Owen!

Harrison climbed this huge rock hill at Saguaro NP

Andrew and I making our descent into the Grand Canyon.  And yes...that's Owen passed out already.  Hiking is hard work!

Andrew standing along the rim of the Grand Canyon.  Look how AMAZING that place is!

The Sucher V posing for a family pic along the rim of the Grand Canyon

Brian and his fellas.  Such a good looking bunch.  I can't get over Owen's little pose with his hat...hahahaha!

Oh let's not forget, we had this bright idea to make a pit stop at the Hoover Dam because Harrison and Andrew had never seen it...it added 3 HOURS to our drive home; it was a nice photo op, however.

and finally...back home, relaxing, and coloring some Easter eggs

Owen was more or less supervising while Harrison and Andrew did all the grunt work
We had such a great time but it's always so nice to get back home, sleep in your own bed, and get back into the groove of the things.

So what's next for us...

I'll be running the La Jolla Half Marathon at the end of this month with my best friend.  I'm really looking forward to spending a weekend with her in San Diego.  I have to share a couple pictures of my little training partner...
This is what it looks like when I help my mommy train for her half marathon.  I'm such an enthusiastic cheerleader on her LONG runs

Post-long run...training is such hard work!
I had to throw those in there, I think it's hilarious!  It never fails...wanna put the baby to sleep, take him for a run in the jogger while I do all the hard work.

OHHH...and we can't forget...Owen turned TEN MONTHS yesterday!!  Can you believe it?!?!  My little monkey is closing in on his first birthday.  Where has the time gone?  I can't believe this little guy has blessed our lives for almost a year.  It still feels like yesterday that I was nervously awaiting his arrival in my hospital bed.  It all goes by so fast but thank goodness I cherish every second with him...even when he decides to cut THREE teeth at the same time...
HAPPY TEN MONTHS BUGS!
This is what happens when you leave magazines unattended, but would you look at that smile  :)
